Categories & Brands

Configure the vehicle taxonomy including categories, subcategories, and brands for organized browsing and filtering.

Overview

The platform organizes vehicles using:

• Categories: Main vehicle types (Trucks, Buses, etc.)
• Subcategories: Specific vehicle types within categories
• Brands: Vehicle manufacturers
• Models: Specific vehicle models per brand

Accessing Category Management

1. Go to Admin Panel
2. Click "Categories" in the sidebar
3. View category tree

Viewing Categories

The category list shows:

Creating Categories

1. Click "Add Category"
2. Fill in details:
   • Name (multiple languages)
   • Slug (auto-generated)
   • Parent (if subcategory)
   • Description
   • Icon
   • Image
3. Set display options:
   • Show in navigation
   • Show in filters
   • Display order
4. Click "Create"

Editing Categories

1. Click on category name
2. Modify fields
3. Click "Save Changes"

Deleting Categories

Before Deleting

Move or reassign listings in this category first.

1. Click "Delete" icon
2. Choose action for existing listings:
   • Move to another category
   • Leave uncategorized
3. Confirm deletion

Category Hierarchy

Manage parent-child relationships:

• Drag and drop to reorder
• Drag into another category to nest
• Maximum 3 levels deep

Accessing Brand Management

1. Go to Admin Panel
2. Click "Brands" in the sidebar
3. View brand list

Creating Brands

1. Click "Add Brand"
2. Fill in details:
   • Name
   • Logo (upload)
   • Description

3. Select applicable categories
4. Click "Create"

1. Click on brand name

Models

Model Management

For each brand, manage models:

1. Open brand details
2. Click "Models" tab
3. View/add/edit models

Creating Models

1. Click "Add Model"
2. Enter:
   • Model name
   • Years produced
   • Model variants
3. Save model

Specifications

Specification Keys Management

Access specification keys at Admin > Specifications.

Specification keys define the custom fields available for each vehicle category.

Specification Fields

Configure custom fields per category:

1. Go to Admin > Specifications
2. Select category from dropdown
3. View existing spec keys for that category
4. Add, edit, or delete specification fields

Viewing Category Spec Keys

The specification keys list shows:

Label	Display name
Type	Field type (number, select, etc.)
Group	Specification group
Required	Is field mandatory
Filterable	Shows in search filters
Order	Display order

Creating Specification Keys

1. Click "Add Spec Key"
2. Configure the field:

Label	Display name (translatable)
Type	Number, Text, Select, Checkbox, Radio
Group	Group for organization (e.g., "Engine", "Dimensions")
Required	Mandatory or optional
Filterable	Show in search filters
Searchable	Include in full-text search
Units	Unit of measurement (HP, km, L)
Options	For select/radio types - list of options
Min/Max	For number types - validation range
Order	Display order in forms

3. Save the specification key

Editing Specification Keys

1. Click on spec key row
2. Modify any field
3. Save changes

Impact on Existing Listings

Changing spec keys affects all listings in that category. Existing values may need to be migrated.

Deleting Specification Keys

1. Click delete icon on spec key
2. Confirm deletion
3. Existing listing data for this key is preserved but hidden

Exporting Categories

1. Go to Categories > Export
2. Select format (CSV/JSON)
3. Download file

2. Upload file
3. Map columns
4. Preview import
5. Confirm

Display Order

Control category display order:

1. Drag categories to reorder
2. Or set numeric order values
3. Save order

Homepage Categories

Select featured categories:

1. Go to Settings > Homepage
2. Select featured categories
3. Set display order
4. Save
